TANBead launched the latest Environmental Microbiome DNA kit (6EM series)

According to market forecast analysis, applied NGS (next-generation sequencing) analysis in ecology, animal husbandry, agriculture, and environmental protection will be the greatest demand in the eDNA (environmental DNA, environmental DNA) market.

The Global Environmental Testing Market Report from Global Information, Inc. (GII) has shown that the global environmental detection market is projected to reach $7.95 billion in 2021, growing from $8.62 billion in 2022 to $17.67 billion in 2030, with a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 8.4% during the forecast period from 2023 to 2030.

TANBead’s new extraction reagent, 6EM series, enhances microbial lysis and removes humic acid.

The TANBead Environmental Microbiome DNA kit (6EM series) is an accurate, methodical, and user-friendly environmental microbial extraction reagent used for the rapid and effective isolation and purification of microbial DNA, such as fungi, bacteria, yeast, algae, etc., from various environmental samples like soil, wastewater, and air.

Soil is most common in environmental microbiome samples. The diverse composition, complex microbial interactions, and the presence of inhibitory compounds make extracting microbial total DNA with high-quality a challenging task. Now, the TANBead research team has developed the solutions for two major targeted challenges in nucleic acid purification from soil samples: the difficult microbial lysis and the high humic acid content.

● Efficient Microbial Lysis:

The 6EM kit employs a Beads Beating technique combined with effective chemical reagents, which helps disperse soil particles, increasing the likelihood of collisions between microbes and lysing beads. This results in efficient lysis of Gram-positive bacteria and fungi, and ensures the thorough lysis of all bacteria and fungi present in soil samples.

● Humic Acid Removal:

One of the greatest challenges in DNA extraction from soil samples is the high content of humic substances (humic acids, fulvic acids, etc.). These humic acid molecules contain carboxyl and phenol groups, varying in molecular size, and are similar to nucleic acids as large, hydrophilic anionic polymers, making them prone to co-extraction with nucleic acids in the final steps. The TANBead research team has developed an innovative method specifically designed for environmental samples with a high humic acid content, such as compost, sediment, and fertilizer. After processing, high-quality DNA can be obtained, perfectly suited for downstream PCR, qPCR, and NGS applications.

Patented magnetic-bead-based technology and exclusive formula make 6EM superior to the competitors.

Compared to the competitor, the TANBead Environmental Microbiome DNA kit (6EM series) extracts DNA content surpassing them by 24%, and its quality (as indicated by an A260/230 ratio >1.7) is significantly superior (Figure 1). Moreover, the competitor uses manual silica membrane spin columns, which are inefficient for handling a large number of samples. In contrast, the TANBead 6EM series employs a nanoparticle magnetic nucleic acid extraction system combined with an exclusive patented vortex-flow automated nucleic acid extraction platform instrument, enabling automated extraction. One instrument can process up to 96 samples within 2.5 hours, compared to over 4.5 hours for manual extraction of 96 samples by the competitor.

The TANBead 6EM series boasts the following key advantages and applications:

1. Ecology: Soil microbial DNA extraction is employed to study the types, diversity, and functions of soil microbes, aiding in understanding ecosystem operations and microbial interactions in ecological environments.

2. Agriculture: Soil microbes play a vital role in plant growth and soil fertility. Microbial DNA extraction technology helps agricultural experts comprehend the composition and functions of soil microbes, guiding crop cultivation and soil improvement measures.

3. Environmental Monitoring: Soil microbial DNA extraction can be applied to environmental monitoring and soil pollution assessment. Analyzing changes in microbial populations helps assess soil pollution levels and recovery capabilities.

4. Biodiversity Research: Soil microbial DNA extraction is a critical technique for studying soil microbial diversity and biogeography, vital for conserving endangered species and understanding interactions in natural ecosystems.

6EM combined with automated nucleic acid extraction is expected to make significant contributions to eDNA analysis.

Automated nucleic acid extraction is particularly thriving in North America, especially in the fields of agriculture, environment, and livestock farming. Its applications include environmental microbial ecology and water quality monitoring for protecting the natural environment and organisms, as well as environmental pathogen monitoring in livestock farming to enhance productivity. The environmental DNA (eDNA) extracted by the TANBead 6EM kit extraction reagent can be collected from soil, water, air, and other environments. It is currently the best method for detecting microbial species under various conditions. The TANBead 6EM kit is poised to make significant contributions to the North American agriculture, environment, and livestock farming markets, promoting environmental protection, improving biological health, and enhancing production efficiency. Business investors are encouraged to pay attention to and engage with TANBead in this highly promising market.
